Born To Be Wild Tour - Steppenwolf Revisited
Get Your Motor Runnin'... Oh What A Show!
Mark Mayberry
What can you say about a band that takes you on a magic carpet ride and makes you believe you really were born to be wild! With 30 million records sold, 28 albums, and 16 Top 40 hits, The Born To Be Wild Tour featuring original members of the classic rock bands Steppenwolf and Pegasus had a catalog of music that took us on an action-packed journey down memory lane. It was nothing but that 60's and 70's rock we all know and love.
With a mix of original and new members, the Born To Be Wild Tour - Steppenwolf Revisited, delivered on all the songs we remember, all the classic hits including: Born to be Wild, Magic Carpet Ride, Pusher, Rock Me, Hey Lawdy Mama, Snow Blind Friend, Who Needs Ya, Jupiter's Child, Ride With Me and It’s Never Too Late. My favorite was Whisper. I swear every song was like listening to the AM radio dial of yesterday.

The band we see today featured Glen Bui (Guitars), Mike Stone (Drums), Danny Ironstone (Keyboards/Guitar), Mike Setzer (Bass, Vocals) and Mark Mayberry (Vocals). Together, this band really rocked out like the old days. It was a true rock and roll experience for all the fans at the Colorado State Fair. They were so into it. You'd swear the lead singer was there in the 60s and 70s. At one point during the show, both Mayberry and Bui left the stage and went into the audience totally surprising the crowd...and they LOVED IT! All of the band members had a chance to showcase their talent and boy are they super talented. True "Rock Stars" of a long gone era. Both Bui and Setzer didn't miss a riff when allowed to free lance on their solos, they nailed it man, they really wailed.

Mark Mayberry, the newest additon to the band was absolutely phenominal. Not only did he take command of the stage but damn he OWNED it! He was incredible. He was so exciting to watch. Loaded with charisma, he seemed as excited to be performing as the crowd was to be watching him. A frontman is expected to be full of energy, and Mayberry defines that duty on stage. Put together his "rock" edge, with unbridled emotion, undeniable swagger, a powerhouse voice, devilishly good looks and a God-given talent he pulls it all together and with his bandmates they put on one helluva Oh What A Show performance!
