CCR - Creedence Clearwater Revisited
Good Old Time Rock n' Roll!
With a mix of original and new members, Creedence Clearwater Revisited (CCR)
still has what it takes to bring down the house. They beautifully delivered on all the songs we remember and a
few we may have forgotten. The energy and stage presence took everyone in attendance back to the 60s and 70s. They had us from the beginning with "Born On The Bayou" and by the time the bad moon rose...... they had the packed out crowd on their feet as well!
Today's Members consists of
Doug "Cosmo" Clifford – drums, percussion.
Stu Cook – electric bass, backing vocals.
Kurt Griffey – lead guitar.
Steve "The Captain" Gunner – guitar, harmonica, keyboards, backing vocals and
John "Bulldog" Tristao – lead vocals, guitar (formerly of the band People!)
The original drummer (Cosmo) and bass guitarist (Stu) are still with the band after all these years!
Cosmo and Stu took the time to comment about the longevity of their music and thanked the fans for their support. The band (CCR) was formed in 1995 with Cook saying, "We never really had any intention of playing for the public, but a friend wanted to promote a couple of concerts. We got talked into it..." As a fan, all I can say is "Creedence Lives!"
The setlist;
"Down On The Corner", "Susie Q", "Have You Ever Seen The Rain", Bad Moon Rising", Proud Mary", Up Around The Bend", Who'll Stop the Rain", Green River", "Travelin Band", "Hey Tongiht", "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", "Midnight Special", Born On The Bayou" & more captivated the audience and transported us to a time of long ago. Their performance was flawless and the new frontman "Bulldog" can not only hit all the notes but he sounds a lot like the original singer from the original band Creedence Clearwater Revival, John Fogerty. I found Bulldog to be loaded with personality who knows how to play to the crowd. The new lead guitarist Kurt Griffey didn't miss a riff and when allowed to freelance on a solo, man he really wailed! He proved that on "I Heard It Through The Grapevine." It was killer!
Don't pass an opportunity to see Creedence Clearwater Revisited Live. A CCR show is a time-traveling mix of hits. Every song was like listening to the AM radio dial of yesterday. I found myself back to my mothers kitchen playing with that dial... CCR really rocked like the ol' days. It was a great trip back in time.
They played all their greatest hits and it was such a fun, feel-good show from beginning to end. If you love CCR and old time rock and roll, you'll have a blast. Really, it's just some cool dudes doing their thing! Definitely worth the trip!
