As always Lucas Hoge was awesome! I've seen this Nebraska-native, singer-songwriter four times now so I'll get right to it. He is the real deal! He's entertaining, charasmatic, artistic, and a lot of fun to watch, AND I might add, he has a killer smile! Pair his
strong vocals with well crafted, thoughtful songs and you create the power to move, and that's what he does.
He performs with such enthusiasm and honesty that he connects with his audience. Here in Pueblo Colorado, the 'Home Of The Heroes", Hoge did just that and even brought the place to their feet when he took the time
to recognize all military veterans and their families, both past and present.
Lucas Hoge is a man with a huge heart who does lots of volunteer work and is the spokeman for several charities. He put the words of a dying women who used her toe to type (due to her illness) to music and it was beautiful. I've written about it before. Read it and watch the video of "How Was I To Know" HERE.
Performing songs like "Power Of Garth", "Boom Boom", "Shoe Fly Pie", and others off his Billboard No. 1 album "Dirty South"(released in July of 2017) kept the crowd in cheers. Oldies but goodies like "Last Chance Highway" had us singing along. Another crowd favorite was “Little Pink Houses” by John Mellencamp as was one written for his Dad, Wishin' I was Fishin'. No matter what he sang we all loved it.
Overall Impression:
What can I say... Hoge and his band are at the top of their game. They bring a high-energy showmanship with down to earth charm to the stage. I say with complete confidence Lucas Hoge is one show you don't want to miss!
