Certain artists just seem to have an innate sense of what it takes to please an audience. Tony Orlando is one of those artists.
He started his show with an oldie but a goodie; "Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree". It was one of Tony's biggest hits and a helluva way to kick start a night of pure entertainment. With an old school charm he drew the audience in with ease and skill as only someone with his talent and experience can. Rolling right into "Knock Three Times" and "Candida" made it almost intimidating being in front of a living legend.
Tony's voice was pitch perfect. He had great range, filled with emotion and control. The word smooth comes to mind. His energy was wonderful, he fully engaged the audience, his smile lit up the venue and what else can I say, he is an incredible performer... at any age! It's hard to believe he was born in 1944.
Tony put on a great show. A little bit of story telling, some laughs and some great music. I really enjoyed it!
Luckily for fans everywhere, after 54 years of entertaining Tony Orlando shows no signs of slowing down.
